Definition: Dance designed for several dancers in which the protagonists challenge each other. Often built as a juxtaposition of identical fragments (dancers repeat in turn the same movement or the same choreographic phrase.)

Example: Beginning of « Is it a lovely day (to be caught in the rain)? » (Top Hat).
