meta-show business montage

Definition: The number is a montage telling the progress of a show, a new star's rising career, a tour. Or the summary of a big show through its fragments. When this applies, do not use "meta".
Example: Audition medley (Easter Parade); Beautiful Girl montage (Singin' in the Rain); "Ziegfeld Days" (Ziegfeld Follies)
