Definition: The character is complaining (about any situation, loneliness, loss, lost love). Typically for torch songs if the number relates to the story (not for onstage torch songsà. Can include dilemmas or expression of frustration. If the character is just longing and expressing general romantic feelings --> "i sing about Love".
Example: "So in Love 2" (Kiss Me Kate)
